I have one eye, so plenty of blind spots, and the truck I just purchased has heavily tented windows. I wanted something with a wider angle of view, to help with said blind spots, and to make it easier seeing out the rear at night, without removing the tint. I also needed a front and rear dash camera and this checked ALL of the boxes.
It's "low light" at night makes my reverse lights look super bright, so backing out of our driveway after dark is now easy. Daytime views are also amazing.
I mounted the rear camera outside the vehicle, on top of the 3rd brake light. Ran the cable behind the brake light into the cab and used a cheap, aftermarket 3rd brake light gasket seal. It has sealed the cable perfectly without any leaks... though I have rtv sealant I can dab on if it ever does start to.
Due to the location I mounted the camera, there are now zero blind spots. Small cars, even motorcycles, if the rear end is still in view of the camera, the nose of the vehicle is clearly visible at the side window.
These camera's make night driving easier, everything is more visible, function settings are great, won't work correctly unless you hook up the reverse power trigger to rear camera. Great Price, Easy to Install
I looked at several of these and this one is the way to go. The kit is well put together and is a perfect replacement because it looks like a factory installation. It has a well-designed cable setup that eliminates cable clutter. Wire components are good quality and easy to install.
My 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser factory mirror does not mount to the windshield, so I went to the web site and ordered an adaptor that fit perfectly, and gave this a factory installed look. If you are replacing a mirror that mounts to the windshield, everything you need is already in the kit.
Overall, very satisfied because it looks like OEM and works as advertised.
Excellent product and support. Consider sending pictures of current mirror bracket because takes time to identify and get custom/OEM one. It would save you time. I bought it here and got installed by a professional in less than 2 hrs.
You get what you pay for with this dashcam... but with a few hiccups.
First the good... the screen is amazing, especially at night. Daytime brightness is a little dim but it's a trade off for a good mirror finish with the power off.
Neither the included bracket adapter or the one for a "twist to install" Honda worked for me but I used a modified Master Tailgaters adapter with the stock bracket. In the end, it looks and just like an OEM mirror with all the dashcam features.
The detachable front camera is a real game changer. No more sacrificing camera coverage for mirror angle. GPS module embedded in mirror is great.
Customer service is quick to respond. Always got back to me within 12 hours. Contact them first with a picture of your windshield mount and they'll get you the proper bracket (if available) and refund the cost
Not so great... Unit gets uncomfortably hot during long usage.
